Description Standing on an earlier mortar site Devils Gap Battery was upgraded in 1902 by mounting two 6inch BL Mk. VII guns with a range of 6,000 yards. The guns saw action in the First World War and the Second World War. In 1954 the battery ceased its defence role but the 6-inch guns were retained.
