The Sheikh Khazal rebellion was an Arab uprising from 1922 to 1924 by Khaz'al ibn Jabir, the Sheikh of the Emirate of Muhammara, resisting centralization efforts by the Imperial State of Persia. The rebellion was suppressed by Reza Shah Pahlavi, subduing the Bakhtiari tribes allied with Sheikh Khaz'al and resulting in his surrender and the end of Arab autonomy in Khuzestan.
