USS Lafayette

From Warlike

USS Lafayette (FFG-65) was the planned fourth Constellation-class guided-missile frigate. She would have been the fourth ship in the United States Navy bearing this name and built by Marinette Marine, a subsidiary of Fincantieri, with an expected completion date somewhere in 2029. The frigate was named in honor of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, a French hero of the American Revolutionary War. Her name was announced on 29 June 2023 by Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro when he visited Paris. On 25 November 2025 the vessel was cancelled.
