Summary
DescriptionXimenes Redoubt in Salina Bay, Naxxar, Malta.jpg
English: The Ximenes Redoubt was built by Grand Master Ramon Perellos of Order of Saint John of Malta in 1715. It was extended and restored in the time of Grand Master Francesco Ximenex (1773-1775). In fact it is the arms of this Grandmaster which embellishes the main door and facade of the redoubt. The redoubt’s intended function was defence but it was also used to store salt from the local salt pans, and served as the residence of the salt harvest security.
