Español: Urbina de Basabe, del concejo de Marinda, en el municipio de Kuartango (Cuartango).
La Casa Torre Urbina Basabe, situada en el Valle de Kuartango, alberga el testimonio más antiguo de la única batalla romana en Euskadi. El edificio, casa del linaje alavés Urbina u Ortiz de Urbina, fue un centro bajomedieval de carácter religioso, administrativo y residencial. Se compone de una iglesia monasterial, de una torre defensiva adosada al templo y otros edificios menos importantes yuxtapuestos a los anteriores. La Iglesia, dedicada a San Pedro y de estilo románico, data del siglo XII y está considerada como una de las más antiguas de Araba/Álava. Su retablo mayor, fechado en 1615, está presidido por una imagen medieval de “Andra Mari” del S. XIII o principio del XIV. En 1458 alcanzó su apariencia actual. Y ya a principios del s. XVI se construyó la actual espadaña exenta, similar a las existentes en el valle de Kuartango. |
