English: Charlotte, NC (May 22, 2006) - Members of the Charlotte City Council greet Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Raleigh Commanding Officer Cdr. Lou Gregus, left, and Sailors assigned to the Los Angeles-attack submarine USS Charlotte (SSN 766), Command Master Chief Paul Otto, center, and Torpedoman 2nd Class Ed Whitten. They were present for the reading of the Navy Week Charlotte proclamation. Command Master Chief Otto also presented Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory with a command ballcap. This event was in conjunction with Navy Week Charlotte festivities. Twenty such weeks are planned this year in cities throughout the U.S., arranged by the Navy Office of Community Outreach (NAVCO).
