English: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Ringgold (DD-500) and a South Dakota-class battleship, circa in July 1945, as seen from the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Lexington (CV-16). Ringgold was assigned to Task Group 38.1 in July-August 1945. Three South Dakota-class battleships were also part of TG 38.1 at that time, USS Indiana (BB-58), USS Massachusetts (BB-59) and USS Alabama (BB-60).
