Summary

Description
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Nields (DD-616) underway in July 1945. Note that she underwent the "AAW 1945" modifications before her transfer to the Pacific Ocean. She now has the maximum of twelve 40mm guns and a Mark 28 radar on the Mark 37 gun director. On 20 July 1945, she got underway from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, arriving on 9 August 1945.
