Summary

Description
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer escort USS Inch (DE-146) off New York City (USA) on 21 March 1944. She departed the New York Naval Shipyard at 0832 to load ammunition by barge off Fort Lafayette. Completing the ammunition onload at 1258, she left for the Naval Operating Base at Norfolk, Virginia (USA). She was scheduled to depart for Norfolk on 19 March, but collided with the stores ship USS Ariel (AF-22) when her anchor dragged while at Fort Lafayette, necessitating her return to the shipyard.
