The bridge area of the ship during construction at the New York Shipbuilding Corp., Camden, New Jersey on 8 January 1947.
Construction was officially suspended on 17 February 1947, when the ship was 82.4 percent complete.
Note shipyard workers' graffiti, apparently related to a union election.
