Jerauld Wright, Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, personally congratulates each member of the crew of the Tench-class diesel submarine USS Grenadier (SS 525) after awarding the crew the Jerauld Wright Award "a case of Jack Daniels Old No. 7 Black Label Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey." The Grenadier earned the award May 29, 1959 for providing proof that the Soviet Union was conducting submarine operations in the Atlantic Ocean.
