Description

A U.S. Navy Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King (BuNo 149910) from Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 8 (HS-8) "Eightballers" is refueled by the destroyer USS Carpenter (DD-825) during operations in the Gulf of Tonkin. HS-8 was assigned to Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 59 (CVSG-59) for a deployment to Vietnam from 30 April to 9 November 1968.

The date given is October 1967, although HS-8 and USS Carpenter were assigned to the recovery of the Apollo 4 space mission at that time.
