Summary

Description The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Bernadou (DD-153) at Hamburg, Germany, in 1919 at the Hamburg-Amerika line docks. The German destroyers at left were retained for river patrol duties. The donor of the photograph stated that they had one gun breech between them, the boat on duty each day drawing it out and fitting it to the bow gun.
