English: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Basilone (DDE-824) approaches the escort carrier USS Palau (CVE-122). Palau, with assigned Air Anti-Submarine Squadron 31 (VS-31) "Topcats", was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea from 19 April to 28 June 1952.
