Description
English: The U.S. Navy landing craft repair ship USS Askari (ARL-30), one of the mobile bases of the River Assault Flotilla, in May 1967, servicing four armored troop carriers (ATCs) while a fifth ATC clears her side. Also moored to the pontoons alongside the repair ship is one of her LCVPs. Note the booms, forward, and the A-frame amidships. The ship is painted green, reflecting her assignment to the "Brown Water Navy."
