| Description | 090401-N-1841C-015 ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 1, 2009) The Ohio-class fleet ballistic missile submarine USS Alaska (SSBN 732) transits to her new homeport at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga. Alaska departed Norfolk Naval Shipyard on March 11 for training exercises and to complete their change of homeport from Naval Submarine Base Bangor, Wa. to Kings Bay. The addition of Alaska increases the number of fleet ballistic missile submarines at Kings Bay to six. |
