The Tu-214R is a special mission version of the Tu-214 airliner.
It is intended to feature side-looking Synthetic Apeture Radar (SAR), ELINT sensors, and also carries the MRC-411 multi-intelligence payload. In addition, the aircraft will carry multi-spectral electro-optical systems.
The Tu-214 itself is an HGW (higher gross weight) variant of the Tu-204 which are built in the Kazan factory instead of Ulyanovsk, which only builds the Tu-204.
