English: Townsend: shop and post office The shop, incorporating post office, at Townsend is right in the centre of this community, alongside 836188. Townsend has long had a rough reputation, with bus company bosses withdrawing services through the estate in the evenings, and a letter bomb being posted in the postbox threatening postal services. However, reputations lasts longer than they deserve and Townsend has a thriving community centre and has had postal and bus services restored. The new postbox is a double-aperture one, which looks quite out of place here (see 893378). |
