A Torre Sineira de Salvaterra do Extremo está anexada ao edifício da antiga câmara, que resultou na sua demolição em 1911, e que, até 1940, se destinou às escolas do ensino primário a funcionar no piso de baixo. Também passaram por ali a prisão e os postos da G.N.R. e da Guarda Fiscal.
