Summary

Description View of the torpedo room of the former German UB III-class submarine UB 88 in the United States. SM UB 88 was commissioned on 26 January 1918 and made five patrols, sinking 14 ships for a total of 31,076 tons. It was surrendered to the USA on 26 November 1918 and used for exhibitions in the U.S. and Panama. Later it was used for tests and scuttled off San Pedro, California (USA), on 3 January 1921, after being used as a gunnery target by the destroyer USS Wilkes (DD-67).
