Deutsch: Anonymer Stich, der eine Kavaliersansicht der Belagerung von Mainz durch Karl von Lothringen zwischen Juli und September 1689 zeigt. Die Ansicht ist von Südwesten aus aufgenommen. Im Vordergrund ist der von den Kaiserlichen geführte Angriff zu sehen, im Hintergrund die von der französischen Garnison verteidigte bastionierte Stadt, im dritten Bild der Rhein und im letzten Bild Kastel. Oben das Stadtwappen und in einer Kartusche der Stadtplan. Veröffentlicht von François Jollain dem Älteren (1660-1704), in Paris in der Rue Saint-Jacques gezeichnet "À la Ville de Cologne".

Français : Gravure anonyme représentant une vue cavalière du siège mené par le prince Charles de Lorraine à Mayence entre juillet et septembre 1689. La vue est prise depuis le sud-ouest. Au premier plan, l'attaque menée par les Impériaux, au second, la ville fortifiée défendue par la garnison française, au troisième, le Rhin et au dernier la ville de Cassel. En haut, armes de la ville et dans un cartouche, plan de la ville. Publiée par François Jollain l'aîné (1660-1704), à Paris rue Saint-Jacques à l'enseigne "À la Ville de Cologne"
