English: 5,072 GRT cargo steamship King Gruffyd, built by the Hong Kong & Whampoa Dock Co, Kowloon in 1919 as War Trooper for the UK Shipping Controller. She was in Greek ownership 1919–23 as Ambatielos, then bought by Dodd, Thomson & Co ("King Line") who renamed her King Gruffyd.
In 1939 the Admiralty requisitioned her as the Q-ship HMS Maunder (X 28). In 1941 she served as an armed merchant cruiser. That December she was returned to Dodd, Thomson and reverted to her previous name King Gruffyd.
In March 1943 she was in Convoy SC 122 from New York to Liverpool when the U-boat U 338 torpedoed and sank her in the North Atlantic.
