Description
Deutsch: Als souveräner Staat im Deutschen Bund schloss das Großherzogtum Hessen zahlreiche Staatsverträge ab. Der 1828 geschlossene hessisch-preußische Zoll- und Handelsvertrag wurde zur Keimzelle des deutschen Zollvereins.

Zu dessen Drittländern gehörte seit 1840 das Osmanische Reich, mit der dann 1862 ein umfassender Handels- und Schifffahrtsvertrag zustande kam.
