Description
English: Cityscape of Mechelen from the south side, with the duke of Alba (on a white horse) taking possession of the city to perpetrate the Spanish Fury of 1572. Protestant troops are fleeing through the Nekkerspoel gate (upper right), firing a last shot into the church of Muizen, while the northwest is burning.
