English: The Royal Navy replenishment tanker RFA Olna (A123) refueling the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Forrestal (CV-59) and a Gearing-class FRAM I destroyer. In the original description, the destroyer is described as German, however, Germany never operated any Gearing-class destroyers. Of all NATO countries, only Spain, Greece and Turkey operated these former U.S. Navy destroyers. The placement of the pennant number points to a Greek ship. |
