9 Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers

Pte Evans was educated at Monmouth Grammar School and entered the Mercantile Marine. After enlisting, he was posted to the Western Front in July 1915.

Pte Evans was killed, aged 40, in the Battle of Loos on 25 September 1915. He is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
