Title
Post Medieval musket balls
Description
English: Two lead alloy musket balls of Post Medieval date. Both are sub-spherical. The larger one is slightly flattened, probably from impact with a soft, fine textured material such as wet clay. The smaller has a visible casting sprue which has been trimmed with nippers leaving two facets. The casting seam on both is smoothed. The mass of the balls suggests that they were for use in a pistol (Harding, 2012). They have a grey patina.
