English: Portland Naval base in 1981 The base was where ships did training after periods of inactivity.We spent about six weeks here in the spring of 81. The ship with the ensign flying is HMS Coventry,which was lost the following year in the Falklands War.The ship in the Background is a type 21 frigate.
