Incorporação: 29 de novembro de 1943. Baixa: 2 de julho de 1965. O Contratorpedeiro Mariz e Barros - M 1, foi o segundo navio a ostentar esse nome em homenagem ao Capitão-Tenente Antônio Carlos de Mariz e Barros, morto durante a Guerra do Paraguai, na Marinha do Brasil. O Mariz e Barros foi construído pelo Arsenal de Marinha da Ilha das Cobras, no Rio de Janeiro, seguindo o projeto da classe norte-americana Mahan. Teve sua quilha batida em 8 de maio de 1937, foi lançado e batizado em 28 de dezembro de 1940 e incorporado em 29 de novembro de 1943. Naquela ocasião, assumiu o comando, o Capitão-de-Mar-e-Guerra Antônio Alves Câmara Júnior. |
