English: LA779-2/13-HAWTHORNE,CAL.-Knifing through the air at tremendous speed before the fiery blast of its rocket engine is Northrop Aircraft's "Rocket Wing" MX-324, first military rocket plane flown in the U.S. The little aircraft of Flying Wing design was first flown more than two years ago. This is an actual photograph of the first flight, which was released for publication(2/12.)
