Summary

Description Lot 9609-33: Royal Navy (British) during the First World War. Dardanelles Campaign. Royal Navy monitor, HMS Ambercrombie. Of note, she was named in honor of Admiral David G. Farragut, HMS Admiral Farragut, but when the U.S. remained neutral during WWI, she was renamed. Collection was transferred from a British government source in 1920 to the Library of Congress. (9/18/2015).
