English: The Leif Erikson at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. The ship arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 22, 1926, and was shown as part of the Sesquicentennial Exposition held in that city. It later went to Duluth, Minnesota. Caption on back of photograph reads: "28599. VIKING SHIP AT SESQUI. The Leif Erickson, Norwegian ship, and replica of the boat that Norsemen sailed across the Atlantic in the year of 1020, arrives at the Philadelphia Navy Yard to be placed on exhibition at the Sesqui exposition. Photo shows the Leif Erickson being greeted by members of the Norwegian Society of Philadelphia. The U.S.S. Mercy, naval hospital ship, is seen in the background.
