I flott turterreng på Møvik utenfor Kristiansand ligger et kanonbatteri fra andre verdenskrig. Kanonen på Møvik er verdens nest største kanon montert på land. Batteriet (Batterie Vara) ble påbegynt i 1941 og skulle sammen med kanonbatteriet i Hanstholm i Danmark kontrollere skipstrafikken i Skagerrak. Kanonene hadde en rekkevidde på hele 55 kilometer.
