Picture description Framed drawing of the moment of the assassination of Francesco Ferrucci by Fabrizio Maramaldo (a captain who fought for the Duke of Orange (Philibert of Chalon in the name of Imperor Charles V). The last words of Ferrucci should have been "Tu uccidi un uomo morto!" (meaning "If you kill me, you will gain neither profit nor the approbation of praise from my murder"). This words became proverbial in the time after. The assassination took place on the in San Marcello Pistoiese immediately after the Battle of Gavinana.
