A series of illustrated vignettes of war crimes with captions "Gen Forrest shooting a Free Mulatto", "Belle Isle Ridge", "Paducah", "Fort Wagner", "Fort Pillow", "Wilkens Bend" &c.

The center oval is labeled "Richmond" "The Traitors in Council" shows a meeting of bat-winged demons, the leader of whom is Jefferson Davis leaning on a sword; snakes write on the floor at their feet.

Above is the inscription "RETRIBUTION will be SURELY GIVEN - A. Lincoln"

Uncredited cartoonist may be Thomas Nast.
