English: Pictured: HMS SPEY (left) and HMS TAMAR together prior to leaving HMNB Portsmouth on the 7th of September 2021 to be forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific Region.Batch 2 River Class vessels are a new generation of River Class ships - larger, faster, more capable than the original Batch 1’s.They help to protect fishing stocks, but also are frequently called on for general duties at home and abroad.HMS Tamar (P233)The fourth of the five new Offshore Patrol Vessels being built to replace the current River Class vessels.HMS Spey (P234)‘Last of class - best of class’ as her crew dub her, HMS Spey is the fifth and final of the second-generation River Class Offshore Patrol Vessels built for the Royal Navy.
