Summary
DescriptionGateway at Chester Castle - geograph.org.uk - 1431534.jpg
English: Gateway at Chester Castle. This gateway is at the rear of the Cheshire Military Museum, and there is an entrance to County Hall behind the camera. The buildings are all the creation of Thomas Harrison in the 18th century. Some years ago the arch became unstable through subsidence so it was carefully dismantled and then rebuilt. The second stone up by the lower gate hinge has a bench mark - see 1431530.
