Aguarela que parece ter sido executada do desenho Ruin of a Fort. Porto Moniz, Madeira, da Casa-Museu Dr. Frederico de Freitas, Funchal, ilha da Madeira. Este forte possuía a seguinte inscrição: Este Forte se fez por ordem de El Rei Nosso Senhor, o Sr. D. João 5.º sendo governador desta Ilha o Exmo. conde de S. Miguel e provedor da fazenda real e superintendente das fortificações Manuel Teixeira de Castro e de cuja obra foi inspector pelo dito Senhor, o capitão-cabo dele, Francisco Ferreira Ferro, filho do Sargento-Mor do mesmo nome, no ano de 1758". |
