English: Fort Belan from the West The cannons in the front garden reminds one of the late Lord Newborough who firing a cannon at Fort Belan had the misfortune to shoot down the mast of a passing yacht which led to his appearance before Caernarfon Magistrates Court. An eccentric to the last, at his request, his ashes were fired from a cannon. See also SH4460. |
