Description Fort Gorges, Portland, Maine. This view looks north onto the parade ground from the heavily vegetated roof. Straight wall on left is officers' living quarters. Diring WWII, mines and other munitions were stored in a structure in the center. Today, only the concrete pad remains. Sunlight shows many irregularities in the inside north wall of the fort.
