On the extreme left, the gunboat Covadonga is distinguished; then, the Angamos cruise along with two transports on its starboard side; one of them is the Amazonas, armed in war, and distinguishable by its two suits. To the right, in the background, one can distinguish the armored Admiral Cochrane, recognizable as having been stripped of his rigging, except for his male sticks. To starboard of this one is the frigate of British war HMS Thetis. Source: Chantal Roberts Collection. Original photography of the time. |
