Summary

Description
English: While German Reich Commissioner Arthur Seyss-Inquart lived on the Clingendael estate, he had the "Abteilung Siedlung und Bauten" build him a command bunker in the park near the border with the Oosterbeek estate.

The building, designed with an appearance of a farm, was 61 by 30 meters and 20 meters high, containing a concrete "shoe box" of 49 by 17 meters and 15 meters high with 2 meters thick walls and a 4 meters thick ceiling. From the air it looked like an ordinary farm. The outer walls are made of concrete, finished with bricks or painted to resemble a brick wall. On the concrete roof lay roof tiles and the are 2 very large fake chimneys for 2 cm Flak anti-aircraft guns. The bunker (Baupunkt 237) is an air raid shelter and directly next to it is a double kitchen bunker (Type 645), protected by 2 meter thick walls, gun holes and heavy iron doors of the 434 P01 type. The emergency exit is located near the kitchen.

On the ground floor of the command bunker was the office of Seyss-Inquart. There were a few more rooms including a boiler room and an engine room. Under the roof was a large attic, where the concrete beams of the roof can still be seen. From the attic one had access to two observation and anti-aircraft towers.Four Type 625 bunkers were built adjacent to the bunker, three of which are still present. They contained 7.5 cm PAK 40 guns in defense of the command bunker.
