Summary
| Description | the U.S. Air Force Chase XG-20 glider (s/n 47-787), from which the Fairchild C-123 Provider evolved. There was no provision for fuel in this glider, so the C-123’s fuel tanks were located in the rear part of the engine nacelles. This aircraft was later converted to the XC-123A prototype. Later again it became the single YC-123D, fitted by Stroukoff with boundary layer control system for improved STOL performance. |
