Description
English: The governmental bombardment of Cartagena during its siege in 1873, in the context of the Cantonal rebellion, in a cartoon of the magazine La Madeja Política. From a federalist republican perspective, but contrary to the cantonalist revolutionaries, Tomàs Padró shows Cartagena as a city badly defended and taken by misery.
Español: El bombardeo gubernamental de Cartagena durante su asedio en 1873, en el contexto de la rebelión cantonal, en una caricatura de la revista La Madeja Política. Desde una perspectiva republicana federalista pero contraria a los revolucionarios cantonalistas, Tomás Padró muestra Cartagena como una ciudad mal defendida y tomada por la miseria.
