English: A Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress on display at the Castle Air Museum in Atwater, California. The aircraft had a top speed of 288 mph and required a crew of 10. Frederick W. Castle, for whom the air base was named after (along with the museum), was shot down in a B-17 on December 24, 1944 on a bombing mission.
