Notes The painting depicts the visit of the Argentinian General Julio A. Roca, the first official visit of a head-of-state to Brazil. President Roca visited Brazil in 1900, so the painting must be from 1900-1902. The naval ship to the right looks like an Argentine Giuseppe Garibaldi class cruiser.
