English: High-resolution digital image of an inscription attributed to the Satavahana dynasty.
This image was generated by 3D scanning the original stone inscription as part of a documentation effort by the "The Mythic Society Bengaluru Inscriptions 3D Digital Conservation Team. The digitisation was carried out on the occasion of the seminar "Early Kadambas and Their Times", held at the Mythic Society, Bengaluru, from March 22–24, 2025. The inscription is located At Banavasi on a Naga stone in the Madhukesvara temple. It is engraved on a Naga stone and written in Satavahana Brahmi script. The inscription is dated to the Satavahana, 2nd Century, In the twelfth year, during the Hemanta season, on the first day of the seventh fortnight, in the reign of Hartiputra Viṇhu Kula Chutukulananda Satakarni, on this day, while serving as the (Yuvaraja), Sivakhada Nagasiri gave the gift of this Naga stone, a tank, and a Vihara. sidhaṃ raño hāriti putasa viṇhu kaḍa cuṭukulānaṃda sātakaṃṇisa vasasatāya savacharaṃ 10 2 hĕmaṃtānapakhŏ 7 divasa 1 mahābhuviya mahārāja bālikāya jīvaputāya [bhāja] yuvarāja . . . . . [siva] khaḍa nāgasiriya dĕyadhaṃma nāgŏ taḍāgaṃ vihārŏ ca dhatha kamatikŏ amacŏ khaḍasāti sajayatakasa acariyasa dāmŏrakasa sīsĕna ṇaṭakena nāgŏ katŏ
