English: The personnel of the U.S. Navy Air Anti-Submarine Squadron 36 (VS-36) with one of the squadron's Grumman AF-2W Guardians aboard the escort carrier USS Gilbert Islands (CVE-107). VS-36 and Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 3 (HS-3) were assigned to the Gilbert Islands for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 5 January to 11 March 1954. |
