Description
English: Four U.S. Navy Douglas A4D-2 Skyhawks (BuNo 142124, 142423, 142678, 142687) of Attack Squadron 86 (VA-86) "Sidewinders" in flight over the Mediterranean Sea in 1958. VA-86 was assigned to Carrier Air Group 7 (CVG-7) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Randolph (CVA-15), visible below, for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea from 2 September 1958 to 12 March 1959. A4D-2 BuNo 142124 carries a Douglas "buddy"-store, and is refueling 142687. Randolph´s plane guard destroyer is hidden behind the cockpit of 142124.
