Lieutenant Junior Grade A. H. Sallenger, USNR, in a TBF-1, made the two attacks single handled, August 7, 1943. (8/18/2015). Description: German U-Boat U-117 attacked and sunk off the Azores by aircraft from USS Bogue. |
